Day
9 - What
Makes God Smile?
You
do. That is your goal anyway. More than anything else, God wants a
relationship with us.
God
is happy when we put him first, above everything else. Above all of our
things in this world. God is happy when we trust that he will take care
of us. He likes it when we find out what he wants us to do and then we
do it without complaining or making excuses, and without asking for
details we don't need or understand. God is happy when we do our best
for him. God likes us to go all out for him and not have great plans
that we never finish or do a sloppy job. God is happy when we remember
who he is and what he does for us.
When
you do something that you are proud of, isn't it nice to have others
notice? Sure it is. And God feels the same way, except that he has a
whole lot more to be proud of. We need to keep him in mind during the
day and be thankful for some of the wonderful things he does for us. God
is happy when we use our abilities. He put them in us! He wants us to
become ourselves.
We
are human for a reason. God wants us to enjoy this world, and become
happy people. There are sins that hurt us that he wants us to avoid, but
there is more to life than staying on your knees all day praying. Make
the most out of the opportunities that God gives us. Yes, you can play
video games for God's pleasure, but don't do that instead of getting to
know him.
God
is happiest when we love him and put him above other things. He doesn't
want us to ignore other things, but we should know that he made them for
us and that he knows how they can help us or hurt us. When we put God
above things, we find out how much he cares about us.
Thinking
about my purpose:
Know.
God smiles when I trust him.
Remember.
"The Lord is pleased with those who worship him and trust his
love." -Psalm 147.11 (CEV)
Think
about it.
Since God knows me best and wants me to be happy, what should I put him
in charge of in my life?
