Day

- Using
What God Gave You
God
made you what he wants you to be. If that is what God wanted, we need to
learn to rejoice in what he gave us, not be jealous or frustrated at
what he didn't. He designed you with a purpose and it is in fulfilling
that purpose that you will find true joy and happiness. So how do we
figure out what our design is?
Test
yourself.
Don't always rely on some standardized spiritual gifts test. Get into
God's Word. Spend time with him. Get plugged into different ministries.
Then you will be better able to judge what makes you happy and complete,
and what you are gifted in.
Think about
yourself. Not what serves you, but where do you enjoy serving? What is
an area that doesn't feel like a chore, but you look forward to it time
and again? In what area do others see you doing your best and enjoying
it? These questions will help aim you toward a good area of service for
you.
Look
at your record.
Where's an area that you've seen God work through you before? Where is
an area that you have been hurt? Examine yourself and remember that God
can use both of these things to develop your service for him.
When
you find where you fit, enjoy it! Get
involved and develop it. Do what it takes to be a part of God's work,
and continually work at areas where you can improve your service. Don't
focus on others and wish that you were them, focus on developing your
shape and your relationship with God personally, and he will use you in
a unique way that no one else can match.
Thinking
about my purpose:
Know.
God deserves my best.
Remember.
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman
who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of
truth." -2 Timothy 2.15 (NIV)
Think
about it.
What has God given me that I can begin developing today?
