- Made
for a Mission
God
designed you with a mission. When you do things for believers, it
is your service. When you do things for unbelievers, it is your mission.
Your mission is to bring other people to know God. Your mission is your
fifth purpose and is very important to God.
Your mission is
continuing what Jesus did. We are told that reaching out to unbelievers
is not optional. It isn't something that some people do and others
don't, it is something that Christians do. You may be the only one who
can reach a particular person.
Your
mission is a privilege.
God is willing to use you to reach out to others. That should amaze you.
Telling
others how they can have eternal life is the greatest thing you can do
for them.
There is nothing more important or worthwhile you can do.
Your
mission has eternal significance.
Whether or not you share the Good News with others can directly affect
how they will spend eternity. Will anyone be in heaven because of you?
Your
mission gives your life meaning.
Everything else passes away. Why bother with things that don't last?
Our mission is
not to worry about when our time is up or when Christ will return. Our
mission is to spend the time we do have on things that are eternally
important to God.
What
will it cost? Everything. But what else is more worthwhile? What is
worth more than giving it all so that one more person can come to know
an eternal relationship with God in heaven? Is popularity more
important? Is there a friendship more important? Is money more
important? Nothing in this world is more important than bringing others
to God. Realize that, and focus your life around that mission.
Thinking
about my purpose:
Know.
I was made for a mission.
Remember. "Go
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the
very end of the age." -Matthew 28.19-20 (NIV)
Think
about it. What
fear keeps me from telling others about Christ and fulfilling my
mission?
